Many of us who have had experience of keeping fish in an aquarium, we all definitely feel glad and rejoice when we see a clear and beautiful aquarium filled with healthy fish swimming around. We daily try not to forget feeding the fish, and every afternoon after office hour we would like immediately to see the fish in the aquarium happily swiiming.

But when problem arise, where the fish starts to get sick, their skin began to germ-infected then we soon feel panic and want to quickly solve this problem. The FASTEST way usually tends to be our choice, we immediately move the fish into the other aquarium with a clean water and give a small drop of fish medicine. Some time later, the fish recover and we are joyful and move it into the existing aquarium. But soon the fish become ill again, why? The answer is simple, the water in the aquarium should also be always treated and washed regularly in order the fish to be able to grow healthy.

Dear Parents, our families just like an aquarium and kids like fish. When our children are in trouble; they are lazy, do not excel in school, school performance declined then we as parents soon became panick and confuse. Parents occasionally glad to seek a shortcut and quick solution to solve the problem, they want the kids immediately freed from the problem. They might be usually sent them to attend  the programs or courses that hopefully can make them recovered soon. But it turns out after the program completed and they return back into their existing environment, then their problem will be back again very soon.

Learning from the story of aquarium and fish above, we know that educating and developing children to be a successful person can not only depend on the role of the children themselves. But the role of the “aquarium” or the role of the “family” the most important to determine the direction of their success.
Just like treating right “the aquarium” so we have to concern few things as follow:

  • Do we have enough time together with our child ?
  • Do we treat our children as “subject” in parenting ?
  • Do we train our children to solve their own problem ?
  • Do they learn how to be responsible with their mind, words, action and dreams ?

This is a basic requirement for us to make “our fish” healthy, when we do parenting to our children we need to support them by giving the right environment and role-modelling. Starting now !
